Design and execution of works within the remediation program at the site TIGAR TYRES d.o.o. factory complex in the city of Pirot

PROJECT DESCRIPITON

In relation to the future expansion of production facilities at the site of the TIGAR TIRES factory complex in Pirot, environmental research has identified pollution of land and buildings at three locations.

The project included two tasks:

• No. 1: design and construction of rehabilitation of old pollution (land, construction and municipal waste). Application of non-hazardous waste separation method. The remaining usable material is granular.

• No. 2: removal and proper treatment of hazardous materials from "Sarcophagus" facilities and underground tank; cleaning and inspection of the terrain for possible contamination in the area of the removed tanks and "sarcophagus".

WORKS DESCRIPTION

Executed quantities:

Landfill 1 (location 1):

• 7,000 m3 of construction waste
• 65,000 m3 municipal waste
• 240,000 m3 of land

     TOTAL 1: 312,000 m3

Landfill 2 (location 2):

• 13,000 m3 of construction waste
• 6,000 m3 municipal waste
• 50,000 m3 of land

     TOTAL 2: 69,000 m3

TOTAL: 381,000 m3 of remediation work, of which 150t was treated as hazardous waste.
